At Bethania Lutheran Kindergarten, we provide your child with a safe, secure, comfortable and supportive learning environment. Our program stimulates young minds to think outside the square. It fosters creativity, challenges thinking and doing, and supports co-operative learning. We address the needs, interests and abilities of each child and recognise them as the unique individuals God created.
Our Kindergarten is co-located with Bethania Lutheran School on Glastonbury Drive at Bethania. Our service first opened its doors in July 2009 as a result of an identified need in the local community for a high quality early childhood service and Kindergarten program. We are a small, two room service, offering a Junior Kindy (2½ – 3½) room and a Kindergarten room.
Our Kindergarten is a government approved Kindergarten program and is run by an early childhood teacher with over 20 years experience. We work in conjunction with families and local schools to ensure prep readiness and a smooth transition to school.
Our service operates as a Long Day Care model of Kindergarten, meaning that we include before and after Kindy care, as well as vacation periods in our daily fee. Child Care Benefit and Child Care Rebate is available for eligible families.
Queensland Lutheran Early Childhood Services (QLECS) manages and administers our service. We are a QLECS plus service, utilising the advice and services of a team of Children’s Services Managers, accountants, administrative clerks and payroll staff. The team operates under the leadership of the QLECS Executive Officer.
Services covered by the National Quality Framework have been assessed and rated against the seven Quality Areas of the National Quality Standard and the Education and Care Services National Regulations. The assessment and rating process aims to drive continuous quality improvement for services and provide families with better information for making choices about their children’s education and care. The overall rating for a service is determined by the combination of the ratings achieved in each Quality Area.
Each state and territory Regulatory Authority undertakes the assessment and rating process. The Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority, ACECQA, is responsible for ensuring consistency in assessment and ratings across Australia, assessing services for the Excellent rating and creating awareness in the sector and community about the assessment and rating process.
