Queensland Lutheran Early Childhood Services (QLECS) is a service organisation, providing professional governance and accountability, service management and expert knowledge in the specialised field of early childhood and children’s services.

Early Childhood Services

Our Long Day Care services and Occasional care centre provide secure, age-appropriate, nurturing, environments that encourage children aged 6 weeks to 5 years to play, learn and grow. They participate in a range of different indoor and outdoor experiences which provide opportunities for them to explore, inquire and problem solve.

Family Day Care

Family Day Care is quality childcare offered in the homes of carefully selected & registered care providers. Family day care provides nurturing care in a secure and enriching home environment for children 0 – to School Aged. Carers work standard and non-standard hours allowing greater flexibility for families.

Kindergartens offer sessional care for children in the year prior to Prep. The sessions are 6 hours in length and operate for 40 weeks per year following the state school terms. The educational programme is based on the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines and is delivered by a qualified, registered early childhood teacher, assisted by a qualified kindergarten assistant.

Outside School Care

Quality Outside School Hours Care is all about providing a safe, suitable and stimulating environment where children’s physical, emotional and social needs are met in a Before, After or Vacation Care Service for children in Primary & Middle School.

Governing Body

QLECS, as one of the new Central Governing Bodies (CGB), will administer the funding for the community kindergartens within the Lutheran system and will also offer Associate Membership to other community kindergartens.
