Queensland Lutheran Early Childhood Services (QLECS) is a service organisation, providing professional governance and accountability, service management and expert knowledge in the specialised field of early childhood and children’s services.
QLECS, as a Central Governing Body (CGB), will administer the funding for community kindergartens within the Lutheran system and will also offer Associate Membership to other community kindergartens.
Queensland Lutheran Early Childhood Services currently supports 58 Early Learning Services in Queensland, one in Victoria and one in new South Wales.
Our early childhood professionals all have relevant qualifications and aim to provide high quality play-based programs focused on the individual needs of the children in their care, as well as those of the group. Children participate in a range of different indoor and outdoor experiences which provide opportunities for them to explore, inquire and problem solve.
Families are encouraged to be actively involved in the centre by participating in centre activities, fund raising and social events. Child Care benefit is available for families.
Family Day Care is quality child care offered in the homes of carefully selected & registered Carers (now called Educators). Family Day Care provides nurturing care in a secure and enriching home environment for children 0 – School Aged.
QLECS supports two Family Day Care Schemes. Educators work varying hours allowing greater flexibility for families.Educators are supported by their Scheme Coordination Unit. The role of the Coordination Unit is to support and guide Educators and to proactively work with them in the ongoing quality improvement process.
Educators work in partnership with the Coordination Unit to uphold organisational values, meet required legislation and national standards and provide a service that is of high quality and professionally delivered.
Kindergartens offer education and care for children in the year prior to Prep. They operate for 40 weeks per year following the state school terms. The educational programme is based on the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines and is delivered by a qualified, early childhood teacher, assisted by a qualified kindergarten assistant.
Queensland Lutheran Early Childhood Services support 8 Sessional Kindergartens and 24 Approved Kindergartens in a Long Day Model across Queensland.
The educational programme, based on the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines, is delivered by a qualified early childhood teacher, assisted by a qualified kindergarten assistant.
Queensland Lutheran Early Childhood Services support nineteen Outside School Hours Care Sevices, ranging from the Gold Coast through to Cairns and out to Toowoomba. These services are co-located within our Lutheran Schools and can offer Before, After & Vacation Care for children of school age from Prep through to Primary and Middle school.
Quality Outside School Hours Care is all about providing a safe, suitable and stimulating environment where children’s physical, emotional and social needs are met.
Our services offer varied and exciting programs which allow the children to play and explore in a stimulating environment. Programs are designed to cater to the children’s age, skill, interests and abilities through a variety of challenging and recreational activities.
